Since I have taken photos of this and it was a good time I thought I'd write something about it before I forget it all. I came down to Brighton on that morning and then, once I'd found out where I was meant to be when (I'd left the invite in Oxford), I got ready for the black tie. It was really good fun and nice to see everyone again since I haven't seen people for ages.
It started with drinks (champagne for those who were drinking in the bar area (after I'd eventually accepted to being in the right place since I felt slightly out of place in my smart dress when the others about were golfers in shorts and T-Shirts). This was good and gave me a chance to catch up with my lot again.
The food that came next was absolutely wonderful though I couldn't manage to eat all of the pudding, let alone the mints or anything. I won't go into too much detail about the food or anything otherwise I'll end up drawling. ;) The dining room also looked wonderful with lots of silver and blue helium balloons about (which seemed to like sitting in the carrotts since their strings were weighted to the table or floor). There were also lots of cool blue candles about and 21 glitter confetti.
It was nice since I was sat with school friends (and in several cases their partners) so could catch up with various bits of gossip which I've lost over the last few months or year.
After that we were herded out, back into the bar, for more drinks while they cleared up the tables in order to set up the disco. This gave more chance for nattering and discovering the toilets were in the ladies locker room which was completely scarily smart and included dressing room area with air driers and mirrors and so on and lots of places to sit and natter to others.
The disco was full of loud music and, eventually, people dancing as well as flashing lights. If you weren't careful you managed to temporarily blind yourself though. Everyone seemed to enjoy the dancing when they stopped feeling quite so full from the dinner, including her gran (well I assume that was who it was) which I thought was cool. The rest of the evening flew by in dancing and talking when too tired or hot until the coach turned back into a pumpkin and I got collected at 12ish. Oh, in the middle of this we had the cutting of Josie's cake and speach by her father which was nice.
I think that's all there is to say about that except thanks to Josie, if she's reading this, for having us since it was definitely great fun.
