An important settlement in the Principality of Shabak, the city of Bakulan is here described by Hugh Eldred-Grigg.

The capital of Shabak, Bakulan sits on one of the world's best natural harbours at the northern tip of the Shabak Peninsula. The largest city in South-Eastern Allansia, it is quite a grimy place, with extensive slums and dock areas. Bakulan is the home to the winter palace of the Prince of Shabak and is the most common home for the Court, as well as being the headquarters of the Army and Navy. It is a prosperous city, but not one without its underbelly, as a thriving thieves' guild known as 'The Union' dwells within its walls.
